Annual gala

Annual gala

Every year, Peace Runners hosts our annual gala to come together to support our mission of health equity on Chicago’s Westside and celebrate all we've accomplished in the past year.

All of our free programs are made accessible to the community with the support of you.

For five years, our organization has continued to thrive on impact, sustainability, and community strength. Each year, we have grown in both numbers and purpose, driven by the dedication of our runners, partners, and the westside community who believe in movement as a pathway to healing and empowerment.

This year, we celebrated record-breaking participation across major races:

  • 1.3k+ participants in various 5k races throughout the state
  • 160+ participants in the Bank of America Shamrock 8K
  • 130+ runners in the Bank of America 13.1 half marathon
  • 55+ individuals who completed the Bank of America Chicago Marathon

Our reach has expanded beyond the city limits. Peace Runners stood on the global stage, representing our community across all seven Abbott World Marathon Majors, proving that excellence can emerge from neighborhoods often overlooked.

We remain rooted in our mission: Advocating for health equity and building stronger communities through movement. We create safe, welcoming spaces where wellness is accessible, mental health is supported, and healthier lifestyles are nurtured. Our work directly addresses the life expectancy gap that affects under-resourced and historically disinvested neighborhoods across the westside of Chicago.

We are not just running.

We are redefining what is possible. Together, we are building a culture of health, belonging, and joy — one mile, one neighborhood, one community at a time.
